Our Story
The story of Lisse, like many revolutionary inventions, was about the right people, being in the right place, trying to solve the same problem.
The stars aligned when three old friends, a physicist, an electrical engineer, and a wine lover waited an hour for a bottle of rare red wine to decant, motivated by impatience and frustrated by the countless shattered decanters, in the fall of 2017, they decided to search for an alternative solution. To their surprise, all they found were gadgets that aerated or stirred air into the wine; our air is made up of 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen (and small amounts of other gases.) This was not ideal.
They started to brainstorm solutions to the two problems they had, how do we add only oxygen into the wine, and how can we turn 15 minutes of decanting into 15 seconds?
The eureka moment was when they realized the solution was to target the oxygen, not the wine!
By creating an electro-magnetic field it induced a molecular reaction between the air and the surface of the wine, making the oxygen molecules want to dive straight into the wine.
Their prototype turned Indiegogo success have sold thousands around the world, and are now widely used in sommelier schools as a wine tasting tool.
