Our Technology
Decanting is the process of mixing oxygen with wine over time, Lisse does this with invisible light.
The light we see with our eyes makes up only a tiny fraction of the light that is all around us, the rest is invisible light. Similar to the everyday TV remote using infrared light to send signals to the television.
Lisse uses phased array digital beamforming to tune the wavelengths of light to specifically target oxygen at the surface of the wine and no other molecules by leveraging oxygen’s natural molecular resonant frequency. The wavelength excites oxygen close to the surface of the wine, and accelerates the rate it dissolves into the wine, and softens the tannin molecules.

The light emitted by Lisse is 1/10th of the power of a common TV remote, and 1/50th the strength of a typical wifi router. The emitted wavelength is directional, and the decanting effect reaches at a maximum of 30 cm away at an angle of 120 degrees. Hence it’s why we recommend placing your wine glass at a hand width away from your Lisse.
